The perfect storm for the Big XII South has formed...
I hope a Big XII team makes it in the NC over the Gators. All the losses the teams in the South have had (1-loss teams) have been to ranked opponents. Gators loss to an unranked team AT HOME, so they don't deserve to be in the NC at all...

Here is a real poll:
Unlike the BCS computer polls, my rating incorporates the margin of victory of games played between Div1A teams only. Like a lot of computer rankings I use a iterative process. Each team starts with the same rating. Each game is rated based on the score of the game and opponent's ratings. The average value of all games played becomes the new rating for each team. After 50 to 100 cycles the ratings become stable. I limit the victory margin to 26 point and I favor teams with strong defenses. It ain't perfect but no poll is.

My Top 5 looks like this:
1) Bama
Only because they're undefeated. They're gonna go down to Florida though.
2) Florida
Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. Since losing to Ole Miss they've been a wrecking ball. So many playmakers and so much speed. No Big XII defense is equipped to stop them.
3) Texas
They win the tie-breaker because they beat OU head to head on a neutral field.
4) OU
Impressive win over Tech, but they lost to UT, but a big win against OSU would put you above Texas unless they hang half a hundred in ATM.

Your "Top 5" only consists of 4 teams?

The BCS is exposed as a joke again. The only way to put an end to all of the speculation is to have a playoff. This will be a big weekend with some big games -Auburn/Alabama, Florida/Florida St, OSU/OU, Baylor/Texas Tech, and A&M/Texas. Things will shake out a lot more clearly after this weekend and also after the CCG's. Texas is still in a very good spot when the dust settles.
