Default iron block alt mounting help!?!?!

I am in the process of putting a iron block in my car and noticed that the alt bracket doesn't fit. The block does not have the the hole drilled for the top bolt. I tried using a 2nd bracket from the back that i got off a GTO but that doesn't work either. I got this shortblock from a sponser and I am a little upset that this hole was not drilled and tapped before i got it.

How are you mounting your alt in your F body with a iron block? other than drilling and tapping the block.

You will have to Drill & Tap it.. I did that with mine, and I'm sure everyone else here has done something similar.

Its really easy to do. Install the bracket. Take a drill bit that is snug in the bracket and use the bracket as the template to make a starter hole. This will insure the bolt hole is centered in the bracket. Dont drill in more then enough to make a dimple in the block. Then switch to the drill bit that is sized for the tap and proceed with the drilling and tapping operation.
