Your opinion on Ruffs' here
Okay guys.. I'm looking to get Ruff 278s for my 02 SOM SS.. 18x9.5 all the way around. I'm looking to get either Hyper Black or Black. What do you guys think? Also, what size tires do you guys think I should use? I was thinking 285/35. Also, Where can I get the best deal on these? Thanks guys
Also, Anyone got any pics of these on a SOM SS?

Thanks for the replys guys.. I like the black but somthing about the silver/gunmetalish color is attractive to me.. for a SOM but its still up in the air though.. I saw a post where tomzwheels had some kind of deal on the ruff r280s so I sent them an email.. but i'll check ebay out. Thanks

As far as ebay, only one store has the 278 and they're black.. and staggered.. I hope tomzwheels has a good deal on them.
I'm sure I could search and find an answer as I have already did a lot of searching upon the topic but what tires are you guys running? This car is a DD and with my stock 17s on some type of yokohama (cant remember the exact number) I just roll out on the clutch and only like 2-3k rpm and i'm still having problems getting hooked up.
So long story short, I want some tires that will give me good traction but give me some miles as well.. I know traction and treadlife dont go together but if somone knows about a tire that is alright at each? Also, how many miles did you guys get out of the tires?
Sorry for the long post.. Thanks guys

This is the only site that I can find them for sale on. I believe this place will be my best bet for the wheels.

I just noticed the offset of the wheels on that site are all FWD.. I'm not too familiar with offset. Do you think they will still bolt up and be positioned right?
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks. I agree.. I'd say I will be going with hyper black honestly. We'll see this weekend. hehe
I just duno what kinda tires to pick up. I hear nitto 555s are good for like
15k mi. and they're pretty good grip for a stock car. I'm not sure though.. I'll probably end up buying the wheels then waiting till it gets warmer to buy the tires.. since its winter here.

I would love to pick up a set of hyper blacks myself but I cant seem to find a good deal. Also the bolt pattern doesn't exactly match up to our cars so that could pose as a problem. Let me know if you find a good place good luck!

Yeah thats what i'm going to try and get.. I didn't know about the bolt pattern problem. Is it just slightly not accurate or is it severe enough that it may not fit? This concerns me.. i'd have to buy wheels that dont fit. If I can find somewhere that sells them I will let ya know.
Thanks guys

Have you researched the Ruff 279's? I bought a set of them and had them powder coated Flat / Satin Black with a red time attack strip, to match the Flat Black of the car.
I like them but only wish they were a bit wider.
