LS1 DS Installed
YES i know the LS1 ds is not as strong as the LT1 ds but that didnt stop me from getting one. a big TY goes out to AChotrod for being excellent to do business with. anyway the swap was very straight forward and simple. and IMO very well worth it!
there the exact same length even tho the LS1 ds does appear to be abit shorter. so no one has to worry about that lol. the difference was very apparent after i had changed over. i took it for a highway cruise and it was as smooth as butter on the bottom of a beautiful babe. i just wanted to share that with all of you

thats good to hear this DS is in really good shape. i figure if i ever make enough power to pop it or the rear ill switch over to my LT1 ds when i go to the track. considering the yolks are aluminum i could weld onto them. i might concider one day machine the ends and welding a new tube on it

How does the install go? I have never removed a driveshaft. It looks like the rear yoke slides into the front the differential. How do you get the U-joint off the front part of the driveshaft to attach it to the transmission? I searched and couldn't find an install.
