White smoke out exhaust/wet intake?

White smoke out exhaust/wet intake?
Well, about 3 months ago, I started noticing some white smoke out of the tailpipes, and it seemed to get worse until winter came. I pulled the intake manifold and throttle body off the car today, and the inside of the intake is noticeably wet inside - not puddles, but everything looks wet. Could this even BE antifreeze sitting in there? If so, where would it come from? The throttle body's antifreeze line doesn't seem to have a possibility of getting into the intake...or is it oil?
The motor came out of a 98 Z28 with 42,000 miles that had been hit in the front passenger's side - crushed the radiator and nothing further back. I have had to replace the water pump, alternator, and starter since the car started running again 6 months ago, and it sat, unstarted for 3 1/2 years.
Thanks,
-Adam

how often do you drive the car? i dont think there is any way for coolant to get inside the intake...

I was driving the car about every other day...now, it hasn't been started in months, the starter is out right now, too.
There is also quite a bit of carbon build-up in each of the intake ports on the heads...is this normal for a 42,000 mile motor? I would say the bottom half of each intake port is BLACK.

well the throttle body does have coolant that runs through it, so if you have a bad gasket it is possible your sucking in antifreeze.... if i was you i would do the throttle body coolant bypass!

The coolant passage in the tb is self-contained. If the gasket was bad you would suck air through it, but not coolant. Unless the tb is broken, there is no way for coolant to get in the intake. You are probably seeing oil in there because the pcv system is known for sucking oil into the intake. As far as the white smoke goes, it may have another issue such as a bad head gasket or a cracked head.

Can it really be that much though? I let the car sit and idle for 10 minutes and it was still spitting some out at idle, and significantly more above idle?
