I just told you that all the aftermarket kits use the oem pressure plate
for 400hp the centerforce dual friction is more than enough clutch.... good pedal feel too. You could get away with a stock pressure plate and a centerforce, mccleod, RAM disc as well... depends on how much money you got....
but all pressure plates are not OEM deals....

not true.... the centerforce dual friction uses centrifugal weights to increase pressure on the clutch disc as rotational forces get higher (IE higher RPM's)....

I am sure that he will be fine with just an upgraded clutch disk, if he was making more hp, then I would spend the extra cash on a CF dual friction kit. No need for the overly stiff pedal if you don't have to.

yeah some pressure plates are OEM deals painted a different color..... I think that's pretty jacked up IMO.
I mean some companies are charging alot for somethign they pay very little for....
Which is why I like centerforce cause they modify the pressure plate for more holding capacity. Never had an issue when I had mine and I was leaving pretty violent on slicks. sidestepping the clutch at 4K+....

Watch out with the AutoZone clutch kit, the price varies from state to state. It was actually cheaper for me to buy a Ram Powergrip than to buy the AutoZone Clutch kit and replace the disc (which is normally the cheapest option).

CF must be hit or miss, I had a dual friction crap out at around 25k miles, just with bolt ons, car never saw a official track with that clutch and forget launches as I was on street tires. Wish I had pictures.
Whats so bad about driving a M6 in San Fran anyway? I never had any issues when I was out in CA, traffic seemed to flow very well in that city, unless things have changed in the last two years.
What was funny is a friend had a 5 speed S10 with the 2.2, he let a chick who only half knew how to drive a stick drive in San Fran, now that **** was funny. The hilly outlay may be a problem then.
