how restrictive is a standard ls1 camaro exhaust system, just curious as to how much power can be gained by having a straight through sysrem

Headers, Y pipe and a catback can open up 30+ rwhp on the ls1.

Not worth the time. The big restriction starts at the manifolds, The factory cats flow well for stock cats. So you could ditch the stock catback and put in a free flowing muffler and see some gains. I would leave the cats alone and save up for some long tubes, and a off road Y pipe if you dont need emmissions or a catted Y pipe if you do.

if you like how your car sounds now, and want a little pep from the exhaust. Just get a 3" E-CutOut and put it in the I pipe

De restricting the motor to me means intake and exaust. If you have a 1998-2000 camaro a lid, LS6 intake, and full exhaust would be good for around 40rwhp give or take 10.

so basically if you want to get the best exhasut w/o cats then do this..

LTs + O/R X, H or Y + then go with a c/b (y= GMMG, Corsa, Hooker or Magnaflow) or go with (x or h = borla XR-1, Flo Pros, 1 chambers,)

then the next step would be to get a tune and you will gain prolly 25+ RWHP and prolly 20 RWTQ
