burning at least 1 qt every 1000 miles
my low oil light comes on twice between oil changes and i assume thats a 2 qt low warning. so that means i burn about 4 qts between oil changes. i had a friend drive my car the other night (and god damn it sounds sexy) but on WOT and engine braking it likes to puff a bit of bluish white smoke. sometimes even just idling and revving it was smoking.
ive searched a lot and have learned the PCV system consumes a lot of oil but this seems very excessive. i removed the pcv valve and the breather hose from valve cover to throttle body and capped the intake and throttle body fittings then went driving some more. there seems to be less smoke but its still doing it pretty good on WOT.
the pcv may still be consuming some oil, especially once theres vacuum introduced to the crankcase, but with it all disconnected and with 102k on the stock motor im leaning towards valve stem seals. anyone else have any experience or advice?

I noticed it one time before on my car. I now got 2 Husky air/water seperators after the pcv. I notice they both a small bit of oil in them, so maybe the pcv takng some in may be your problem.

Ah, that may be it. Reason I asked is because I used to use m1 5w-30 and 0w-40 and I would go through about a quart every 1k miles. I ended up switching to Valvoline 10w-30 and haven't had any issues since.
