Default another 10 bolt question

i believe im already pushing my stock 7.5 pretty hard. M6, 4.10 gears, est. 350rwhp, 555Rs, but i also have the torsen diff, a girdle, and arp studs. im thinking about throwing in a 150 shot and im kinda curious if my 7.5 will take it. i would wire it with a wot switch so i wouldnt exactly be spraying off the line.

im also aware that you cant ever completely get rid of weak links so im trying to make my axles the weak link in my rear end because they're easier to replace than the ring and pinion. anyone think 4.10s are weaker than the axles?

im surprised it hasnt gone yet if you have a sticky tire and you are hooking at the track..

410s are strong, they wont be your weak link..

It'll blow the side out of the torsen, thats my guess.

I mostly hear of the pinion teeth breaking, before an axle. In most cases. But with the added traction you have, I don't think it'll last long

Too be honest any of it can and will break, its just like a lottery for the parts in the rear..just depends on when that parts number is up. The first time I broke my 10 bolt, I busted the carrier in half. 2nd time shattered the ring and pinion along with busting my transmition because the rear end locked up, 3rd time i sheared a few teeth off the pinion after that I bought a 9".

when it comes to the 10bolt and 6spd there are no promises...it may last but will most likely break. If its your only means of trasportation. Take an easy on it.

I agree, you're only wasting money on the 10 bolt. I once sold a guy a set of Richmond 4.11 gears for his 10 bolt, that he had another shop install. I know this shop does good work and I was at the track the night the car tried out the new gears. He broke all the teeth off the gears on the first pass.
With an automatic you would stand a better chance with the 10 bolt than with your six speed. Bob

In that case, I recommend NOT installing the 150 shot. If you can't afford to replace it, don't race it.
Not trying to be harsh, just telling you the nature of the business.
OTOH, if you could locate another 10 bolt (as a possible replacement), I would say go for it if that's what you want to do.
