Putting everything back together, couple of questions...
As many of you know, I had a TC failure and am in the middle of putting everything back together. I am getting my heads back shortly and had a couple of questions.
My car had the comp 921 valve spring kit on it for 8k miles. Am I ok to re-use the valvestem seals that came with this kit again?
I am also using ARP head bolts during this rebuild, however these bolts came with no moly lube or anything of the sort. Is this lube necessary for a proper torquing procedure or am I good to go without it? If I do need it, is there an appropriate substitute? I thought I had read about some guys using motor oil or something?
I will be rotating the motor over by hand and wiping down the cylinders multiple times before putting the heads on, any ideas on what would be a good fluid to use? I was planning on using one of those microfiber towels for this as well.
Any other tips and tricks are welcome. I have a pretty good idea about everything else, I am mainly stumped with regard to the valvestem seals and the lube issue with the head bolts.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, the valve seals are good. I would inspect them for any obvious issues and replace any that are questionable.
Concerning thread lubricant for the ARP head bolts, ARP provides torque specifications for their products using two lubricants.
1) ARP Moly Lube - The best to use
2) 30 wt motor oil - Second best
I've used both but prefer the Moly lube. Which ever you choose, use the correct torque specification based on the type of thread lubricant chosen.
I use C&A (now Akerly & Childs) Assembly Oil to wipe down cylinders, piston, etc.

^ Your the man. I did see the "not recommended" title underneath the 30wt listing, so I just bought some of the ARP lube from Summit to ensure everything goes together as the way it should.

Na. Other than ARP headbolts lol. I was thinking of having the heads worked over and getting some morels to replace the stock lifters, but then I thought to myself, "Self, what if a piston lets go and your $550 lifters and $1100 heads are then ruined??" As of that point I decided that 480whp was still more than enough fun for now and I could save all of the real fun for when/if I decided to go with a built motor.
I also still have to see if the path I took will prevent TC failure. I am using the stock balancer and that Cloyes chain I yap'ed about so much in my previous thread. If that damn chain breaks again, I will be 1. Absolutely furious, followed by 2. Happiness that I didn't pour all kinds of money into fancy heads and lifters.
