Built 4L60E or TH400 Swap???
Well, I am pretty much at the point where I am now debating to go with a built 4L60E, or just swap a TH400, me having to buy a trans member, and getting my driveshaft shortned, or losing the OD gear does not bother me. From the stand point of which one will take more of a beating, and better performance I am thinking the TH400 due to me being able to get a trans brake. What do you guys think?

I would go with the built 4L60. You say it will be more of a street/strip car, but unless its on a trailer you still have to make that haul to the track. It would get old driving that thing further than just down the street.

I was told that the weight of the car have a lot to do with it. If you have a near stock weight F-Body you might want the 400 but if you are light you can use the 350. I might be wrong but that's what I have read so far.

The drivability doesnt bother me, I used to drive a 70 chevelle with a th400, reverse manual valve body, purple hornies, 12-bolt, 4.10 gears, and a spool it didnt bother me. I am very lax on the "street" sense of things and if I go to the track I have no problem trailering it out there. What I am looking for is what trans will be the best to make me go the fastest.
