Default Speedo won't go above ~110

No matter how fast the car goes the speedo won't go above 110, any particular reason?

Is it a V6 Fbody? If so, that's the limit set in the PCM.

Nah it's a 98 Z28. How does the speedo work on these cars? Off the speedo sensors at the rear wheels?

If it originally came with "H" rated tires - then the speed limiter was set at the factory for 118.
You sure its not cutting out at 118 instead of 110???

ya it's not cutting out it continues to accelerate, i've had it over 130 on the dyno and with the gps. I've logged it with hp tuners and u can see the computer does log anything greater than like 115, no matter how fast ur going

oh, I didn't read the original post correctly. So you can go faster, but its just not moving the needle past 110.

I know there is a speed sensor on the tail housing.
