LS1/t56 Z32: Grocery List??
Hello everyone,
I am a new member to this forum and starting a new project this spring/summer. I recently picked up a single-owner 1990 NA z32 and am planning on an LS1/t56 swap. From my research so far, it seems as though the main sticking points lie within the firewall/tranny tunnel, oil pan, engine location, custom motor mounts and wiring harness; however, I have read mixed reviews on everything I just mentioned.
Can anyone out there (that has experience with this swap) help me put together a grocery list of what I will need to begin, what I will need to fabricate, and what challenges I will need to overcome?
Thank you for reading and I appreciate the help!

Hey Guys,
Sorry for the chassis code lingo... This is a rather unpopular swap for this generation Z; most donors are either 240/260/280zx's. My main concern is having to fabricate the trans tunnel and firewall - here is a pic of the bare engine bay (not mine but same chassis):
The engine will most likely sit between 3-6" from the firewall (see below):
From a bird's-eye-view, will the T56 will have clearance problems? I know the bell housing has a larger circumference than the stock trans, but not sure exactly how much larger. I plan on getting specific measurements posted shortly, but the stock motor is still in tact.
Soon to be SBC'ed Z!
