Camaro Constraints
I checked the constraints this week for the first DOSP cycle for dealers to submit orders, and cyber gray in on constraint which means you cannot order it right now, and it will be that way for a couple of weeks. Also the hurst shifter has been discontinued as a LPO option for now, but will be available in the near future as a factory installed option or dealer installed accessory. I don't understand why they do these things sometimes. So anyone who has a cyber gray camaro on order has to wait a until the color becomes available to order.

Thanks, W. It does affect them, because right now you can't order any cyber gray camaros. It shouldn't last too long, but you would think after all the time they have spent on the car, that the color would be available from the start.

You can order Cyber Gray, it's still in the system.
It just won't be built until late April.
It is not a constraint, just a delay.
The reason....
At issue is the final Impalas built in Dark Tarnished Silver (which is to be replaced by Cyber Gray Metallic). Impala has to complete the build of their remaining Dark Tarnished Silver orders and the Oshawa plant has to be shut down before they can make the switch to Cyber Gray Metallic.
The build schedule for Cyber Gray Metallic starts in late April, for both Impala and Camaro.
Now about the Hurst Shifter....
Just the option will be removed from the order that are already on hand (Event 3000 or greater). The good news is all these orders are isolated at this point.
Dealer and customers will have to decide how to handle the orders that have allocation this week. They will either need to remove the Hurst Shifter LPO and have the order placed, or leave the LPO on for now, and wait until the RPO is introduced.
They hope to announce specific availability and RPO code in the coming weeks. If all goes well, it should be resolved in a couple weeks.
Bottom line: The Hurst Shifter was originally a dealer installed accessory, and will continue to be a dealer installed accessory -- just not one that will appear on the window label and maybe a few weeks late.
The new factory installed Hurst shifter will be identical to the dealer installed part.

I know it is still available as a color, but you cannot order it this week or next for dealers that have an allocation for a camaro, so it is a constraint. A constraint means it is unavailable to order at this time. I have a camaro to order this week, and if I wanted to order the gray, it would not accept my order because it is not available this week. So anyone with the gray on order has to wait longer for the production to start.
CAM Constraints Target Production Period : 03/16/2009 - 03/22/2009

Number Description

No problem, it just sucks for the people that placed there orders back in October for the gray, and now they have to wait longer just to get there car, since it won't be available at the start of production.
