Locked and unlocked is just talking about the lockup clutch in the converter. A converter with a lockup clutch when locked will give you much better mpg on the freeway as well as keep the car a bit more quiet for highway use. The lockup really has nothing to do with the stall of the converter. You could go with a nice Vig 3200. I would not go any lower than 3200 though, I think if you do you might be sorry in the future. I run a Yank 3600 and its not really bad at all, I wish I would have gone 4000 on the stall.

A vig 3200 is good on the street. And feels real good when you get on it

We have our LS1 Stage I billet series - "2C" stall - rated at 3200. It is a blast to drive on the street. Just enough to have fun with, but no to high to be sloppy. The have the billet lock up piston, so the fuel economy will still be good.

There you go black and slow. Hook up one of Circle D's 2C converters. Do some research and you will find very good reviews on Circle D converters. If I ever have to change mine out or decide to I will go with a Circle D.

You wont be disappointed with Circle D. Their level of customer service and guidance is top notch as well as the quality of their billet street converters. Give Chris a call and he will set you up!
