Default ls7 cam

will a ls7 work in a stock ls1? If so will i need to get springs or a timing chain? I wanted to put a cam in my car and i didnt want a rough idle or affect drive abilty any and i wanted it to sound stock into i had the car at WOT will there be a big gain in hp with a ls7 cam? Thanks

i dont know about the ls7 cam, but any cam swap will need new springs. the stock one are berly good enough and as for the timing chain it recomended to get the ls2 timing chain it more heavy duty you wont regreat it
