There are two guys that have posted on this forum you should check out, even though they, like me, chose e36 styles as opposed to your somewhat larger 5 series.RAO did an LS-2 swap that turned out beautifully....and Thaniel, who bought some pieces he needed from someone that no longer needed them.Both did a lot of fabricating on their own... Also, Nash, Vorshlag, and New Age have all done this type of swap and offer entire swap kits, or pieces, as the case may be. You can also check out the blow by blow construction of their cars online.....good luck
