squeaky belt after winter storage

Default squeaky belt after winter storage

the weather finally got nice yesterday so i got my camaro out after sitting since november. and from start up to turning the car off 30 mins later the belt squeaked. but if i revved it the squeak didnt seem to get much louder.

any ideas ?? it was 45 degrees outside

replace it.. its prob dry rotted

you can replace it or spray it with some stp belt dressing... stuff works pretty good... but i'd check it for dry rot cracks as well...

if you choose to use stp belt spray make sure the car is off when u spray it and then wipe it off after letting it soak in.. unless you want a mess that all dust will stick too.

so im assuming i would spray the inside of the belt.
and if i used the crayon or bar soap idea do i do it to the whole belt too or just the possible cracked parts?
