Default LOUD whistle noise under accel, total power loss

Hey guys,

I was on the highway today, going about 60mph, when it all happened. I had to make an emergency stop...

Every time I would give it gas, it would make a terribly loud whistle/hissing noise that would get louder as I gave it more gas (the rpm wouldn't move, no power at all in 4th, stayed about 800-900 rpm). It did it in 5th and 4th gear. The noise sounded like it was coming from the engine bay... I pulled over and it was still doing it in neutral. I let it sit for about 10min and I was able to drive home after that, no problems at all, no noise, power was back to normal. Now I am unable to reproduce the problems which makes it hard to diagnose.

help please

That kind of sounds like a vacuum leak but since you say it went away on its own I really don't know what it could be.

no codes at all. I scanned it while driving, and stopped, then again at my house.

We had a customer that had a bad mount. It rocked the motor just enough to pull away from the inlet of the TB, causing a very similar problem. My point is, check the bellows area as the mass air meter was probably going nuts until the leak was sealed. I saw a guy at the track that had a small backfire and popped the hose off at the pass side of the intake and did not cause the motor to act up. Just had an erratic idle and whistled. Hope this helps.
PS, can she pose for my car?

I think I found what was wrong...

The butterfly of my electric cutout was missing and got aspirated in my exhaust... took my exhaust apart and found the little bugger all bent... I am assuming it was blocking air flow thus decreasing power...

go figure.
