Default new tires rub like a bish

how do u fit bigger wheels/tires when rubbing outer wheel-well? Can you just cut that flap of metal off without screwing up the structure of the quarter panel? ( I just put on some 295/50-16's on and they rubbed the inner wheel-well, so i put on 3/8" spacers and now the rub that flap)...any suggestions?

Big hammer and beat the inner fenders in a bit. Good anger management. After that roll the quarter panel inner fenders with a roller. Get a adjustable panhard bar and center the rear end.

O get rid of the spacers

Ok...I got the adjustable panhard, and i think the rear is pretty centered. I put the spacers on so i wouldnt have to mutilate the wheel-wells. These tires are rediculously wide. They were also rubbing the bump-stops so i cut part of the extra metal off. I also put on longer arp wheel studs to compensate so is it really that bad to run the spacer?... and what kind of " roller" should i use...a friend of mine told me to use a baseball bat...haha

Ok so we've established i am a former mustang owning, moron...I guess the people at bfgoodrich are former mustang owning morons for recommending this size tire for a 8-10 inch wheel also. I've been running 255/50-16 mt drag radials for the past year and want to switch to more of an all weather tire. This size is taller and wider so this will help with traction.

*Please note-
If you dont have any information to help me out,and just want to call me names then dont post on my thread.

what ******* people at bfgoodrich would recommend a 295 tire for a 8inch wide wheel??? Dude 295 is a little dangerous for a 9inch wheel, do you understand the stock recommended tire size for a 16x8 is 245s.. thats a whole 2inches that IS NOT recommended and for some reason I doubt the bfgoodrich people suggested that to you. But if you wanna be stupid and drive around with that then fine, do what a few people said and do the BFH mod to fit it.

Believe it or not, the 295/50/16 Radial T/A is listed for an 8-10" rim, according to the TireRack site. HOWEVER, that tire is NOT really speed rated, as it's only a basic radial tire, so it has softer sidewalls. Secondly, the "measuring rim", the rim they use to "spec" the tire, is a 9.5" rim...that SHOULD tell you something. And finally, the tire has a section width of 12.2"...that should tell you a little MORE.

you would really need to have issues if your putting a 295 tire on a 8 inch wheel though. Cause I guess that means I can put a 315 on a 9inch wheel..which we all know is a dumb ******* question.

I can GUARANTEE you that I wouldn't do it. Hell, I had my 245/50/16 Eagle GS-Cs on 9.5" rims. Looked wicked, handled quite well.

It would be legit if the tire were 31 inches tall. haha. The tires on my truck are 35 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide on a 15x8 rim. My cousins tires are 44 tall 18 wide on a 16.5x12 but thats the way they do trucks. I dont really see how it would be such a problem for a not sporty car tire.?

You guys are retards, this is a 28" tall tire on a 16" wheel. You can get away with a wider tire when you have a lot more sidewall (and still be SAFE).

These are not 17" wheels with a 1" sidewall.

Think a little bit before you bash the guy.

Well, since you have already put on a spacer and got new studs I would roll the fender using 69TA's tool. Not sure how much he charges but there is nothing like using a tool that has a specific job. Just some heads up, not trying to bad mouth you but next time you buy tires get more than one opinoin. Some people just want to sell you a tire and that's why we are here. It's funny how something so easy can turn into a headache.

Exclamation

FIRST off! . . . ALL of you that call this guy a moron, need to APOLOGISE!

SECOND! . . . ALL of you that said a 295/50R16 doesn't fit a 16" x 8" wheel ARE MORONS

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...e1=yes&place=0

THIRD! . . . DO YOU RESEARCH BEFORE YOU MOUTH OFF! Because when you are WRONG you look like an IDIOT!

So back to the OP, as recommended try massaging the inner wheel well surface, with a BFH: "Big F'ing Hammer" . . . The tire will have left rub makes where the "massaging" needs to happen.

If that does not 100% cure the issue, ROLL the quarter lip. DO NOT cut it off!

Try a different width spacer, sounds like the one you have is too thick.

So all you SPILLING MISINFORMATION
