Default What is lighter than a 10 bolt...

A Strange 12 bolt from Madman.

Strange 12 bolt w/ strange brakes
Narrowed 3'' per side
spool, 4.11's
lightweight yoke
lightweight axle ends
Aluminum cover

The weight with fluid is...... 180lbs

My stock 10bolt with auburn limited slip and stock brakes:
205lbs

Brings me to a new race weight of 2775.

I went with aerospace brakes, and am plannign on having mine chopped 4 inches per side for the next set of rims.

Narrowing the rear up does alot for the weight reduction of it.

hell, mind sharing what that type of setup costs? I am looking to replace my 10 bolt with something stronger and since I just needed to add the cage I would also like to offset some weight. I like the sub 2850# RW I had last season...

Just for the record my S60 with a spool, stock axle length weighed 185 on the nose, not with brakes though. My 10-bolt was 165, again without brakes. I believe the lightest aftermarket rear is one of those aluminum fab9's or something along those lines, but they ain't cheap.

^ The MWCP are priced very affordably.

I need to save up my pennies and get a rear for my 93. Having it sit there is just frustrating.

Not trying to hijack or get off topic, but what have you done as far as weight reduction?
