What timing set for non-vented opti and where to buy?
We are in the process of putting the motor together and we came to a little bit of a snag. I have an MSD opti non-vented, but the timing chain set I have is a Cloyes double roller that will only work with vented opti's. What timing chain do you guys suggest and where can I get one that will work with a non-vented opti? Thanks a bunch I need to try to get one here by next weekend so my weekend isn't a waste, lol.

U can get a Cloyes stock replacement from O'Riellys for under $125. They gears have a GM stamp on them. Cheapest I found so far without buying off the internet.

You need to remove the crank snout (requires a puller) and then remove the timing cover. You may need to drop the front of the oil pan slightly to avoid tearing the oil pan gasket (not a fun job to do if you do tear it).Once the timing cover is off you'll need another puller (claw-type) to remove the crank gear.

Hey I know you guys were talking about the oem being the way to go but what about the Lunati 93094? It looks like the stock piece and is like 15 bucks more, I figure since I have to make a summit/jegs order anyway and it'll work I'll get this one. Whatcha think?
