Finally....Retuned, Redynod, VERY HAPPY.
Hey yall, I finally got this motor back working like it should. Good compression. No leaks, and its accepting proper timing. Tuned by the well known Johan Mangs of Delray Beach. Originally it had been tuned by someone else, but the motor was not in good working order.
Little digression about Johan.......he is the man. He listens to your needs and or problems if they exist, and he takes the time to work out each issue. He spent several hours tuning my car. And he wasnt happy until it was perfect. He was easy to talk to, willing to explain everything he was doing and why he was doing them....and hes just an all around cool guy. Someone I def see tuning my future cars. Anyone in South Florida who needs a tune....this is your guy.
Back on topic....after an hour of trying to dissect and fix what he called "the most fucked up tune I have ever seen" (my old tune) .....he decided to reload the stock tune, and start from scratch. The car was running pig rich, spitting black smoke out midway through wot runs. Not good. the car was also driving like ****, and wasting lots of gas. Wot seemed "ok" but not great. Below is the graph. I picked up lots of lowend and midrange partial throttle power, and gas mileage improved greatly. She feels very strong all the way to redline. There were several graphs as he was making changes along the way, shown in red is what I walked in with, and in black what the final tune was. You can see while I only picked up slightly @ wot, I picked up a nice amount of low end and midrange power which is really noticeable.
Johan has tuned several "V's" with identical bolt on mods. He said this was by far the most powerful numbers he has seen with these mods. I am very happy with the results. For comparison a local with a stock V (he posts on this site) with Johans dyno tune made 352 on this same dyno using the same correction factors. 386rwhp / 365rwtq.
Please let me know what you guys think. One thing that seems to stick out is the wierd dip in both hp and tq (black line) at approx 5500 rpms....anyone have anything to comment on that?
Thanks!!!!

Nice results, Johan has always liked the CTS-Vs and seems to take a little extra care making sure they are right.
For a good example of his tuning prowess on the V platforms, check out onebadcads monster. Johan tunes that 383/H/C/Maggie'd monster, and it runs like no V ought to!
