Ya, some manufacturers even say certain rods are for LS1 and SBC's....just depends on who and what part number.
Only big difference is that the SBC rods are off center, they work fine, but the LS1 specific ones are oncenter.
My machinist showed me some off center rods on a some pistons and they had some wear from the contact it made w/the piston in certain places. He said you can just machine it if it's a problem. Yet, it's not always a problem. Just depends on what pistons you put on it and etc...
