OP. IIRC, there is a difference with the brake lines. You should try to see if you can unbolt the calipers from the LS1 rear and bolt them up to the LT1 rear. If you can, then you can just drop the diff, leaving the brake lines in place, and then bolt up the new rear and attach the calipers. Don't know if that is possible, but it seems like that's the easiest solution.

Also my LT1 style e brake line didn't work with the LS1 style rear end, so I snagged one from the junkyard. Lemme know if you come accross any hang ups. If you're local I don't mind making a drive.
Love your avatar Luke. Ya know LS1's are great motors, but there's nothing wrong with straying from the beatin path. I didn't get my 97 by accident. I got it by choice.
And lastly, comments like this are why I've slowly started taking my friends advice and stayed off Tech for LT1 related items. For the record there has never been an LT1 powered 4th gen that came with drum brakes rear. I mean come on, do at least some homework on Camaro history bro so that guys like me don't read your comments and almost fall out of their chairs.

It will swap over. The only issues I had were the brake line fittings being different and there being no home for my ABS switch on the rear end. (switch head different also). I just got adapters for the fittings. My rear brakes currenty don't work due to seperate unrelated issues.
