What to do? 4l60e problems
Well to start off I have a 98 ss camaro. Ever since i bought it the a4 trans had trouble with the 1-2 shift at WOT but 2-3 was ok. I installed h/c/i and took it to get it tuned. Picked it up last week and the 1-2 was better but the 2-3 was was not there at all. It would not shift into drive under WOT just bounced off the limmiter. Normal driving was ok. Took it back and had it had them make some adjusments picked it up again last night and drove it home. 1-2 shift is perfect but the 2-3 bounced off the limmeter and them jumped back and forth before it went into 3. I let off and tried again and it hit perfectly. I was happy. I got a little closer to home and gased it again same thing it seemed to jump back and forth 2-3 2-3 2-3 and then slipped into 3 real soft. It did that every time after untill i got home. Parked the car for about a hour and took a friend for a ride the first time i got on the gas it hit the rev limeter a few times then went in. The next time I did it shifted pefect. Im lost on this trans. Is it the trans or the tune? I have a complete m6 set up for the car But the trans is built with a vig 3800 stall. Fluid is nice and clean. Give up on the auto and put the m6 in or ??? Im lost any help would be great thanks

If the 2-3 was ok before the tune and nosw the 1-2 is good but the 2-3 is not, I would suspect tuning.
And I would not go to and M6 just yet why make your car slower. Solve the real problem whatever it is and go fast lol.
Seems so many people now if it dont come easy dont do it lol. I remember when I was a kid barley knowing what I was doing but spending days and weeks solving things with my car as I moded it, The more it would not do what I wanted the more determined I became that IT WAS GOING TO! LOL

well I wanted to keep the auto for a while for the track. I have no problems working on it myself but i cant tune it myself. I think this could be a tunnig problem. I wish the guy was closer but he is about 1.5 hours away and ive been down there three times. The guy is a good tunner car runs great and pulls hard if i can get past the trans problems. my friend has a performabuilt trans and his runs great tunned by the same guy. Im just lost

How many miles are on the trans you have? Tuning a new trans and a high milage one can be quiet different really, The older trans has higher clearances and slower shift times and may require some playing with it live to get what you want. New built units are generally easier because they are predictable within reason.

Once again a reason why HPtuners or EFILive is almost a must have for any enthusiast that likes to mod cars. See if you can pick up a used one and then you can make these tweaks yourself and you don't have to worry about driving to the tuner everytime there is an issue.
Sounds like a tuning issue to me as well but since you don't know anything about the the trans its tough to say for sure.
