this is the info I got from JL's site:

They will fit in the door but will require you widening the hole a bit. I worked for a JL dealer and test fit them to the hole an noted that they needed to be widened. But getting them to fit is one half. You would need to seal that part of the inside of the door and make it an enclosure using fiberglass. JL 6.5 W0s are not designed for free air applications they recommend there VR 6.5s I believe.

Ok, I'm sorry, I should have been more specific about which model I am using, it's the JL XR650-CSi component speakers. If they require widening, could I use a dremmel?

Mine fit without any problemsof course a buddy of mine at the local stereo place did mine for me.but I dont remember him widening the hole out any..and lethal...I got a black z28 with black halos and a billet grill also...lol
