Putting in PowerMaster Alternator....pulley question
The previous owner put in underdrive pullies. the stock 102/105 amp crapped out on me, and I upgraded to a 150 amp PowerMaster. Upon looking, the two alternators are almost identical in pulley sizes.
I measured them both (one on the stock alternator that went out, and the new Powermaster), and the difference in circumference of the two pulleys is .4", or 6%. (approx 6.69" vs 6.28")
Since the new alternator is nearly 50% higher amperage at peak, would you worry about the 6% difference in pulley size? Changing it would be a pain at this point.

Well, I still got an issue. The alternator is not charging the battery. The excitor wire is showing 10Volts with the key turned, but the engine off. Is this too low? It's 0 volts with the engine off (as expected), and 10 volts with the key turned.
