Default tb plate seal

so is this even necessary? i bought a tb plate w/ lt1 written on it. i was putting it on and the seal kinda popped out and it's expanded like crazy! is it necessary to keep? or can toss it?

You need it to keep anything other than air from entering the TB and engine.

I changed mine the other day with a TPIS one. Mine came with a gasket but wasent the same full rubber one but it works.

Was there any oil coating in your TB under the plate? When I took mine off there was a coating of oil and I remember on my old GTA with TPI there was never any oil there

it smelled like gas. but the seal is beyond using really. unless i can cut it. but that kinda defies the purpose.

Just stop at your local parts store and grab a new gasket even if its not the same design as that rubber one
