Default Heads n cam??? Help!

I wanted to get a set of heads for my 00 SS. The mods I have are: hooker LT headers no cats, 3in y-pipe and slp centermount exhaust, underdrive pulleys, plugs n wires, 60deg therm, fast 90tb n intake. I wanted to know what heads n cam would work good with this set up. Price I can spend under 3k.

Id suggest a mild heads and cam set up if you plan on keepin the stock 10 bolt. Like maybe a 228 230 type cam with 5.3l or ls6 heads.

Id contact texas speed about a combo. they got a killer heads and cam combo. If i were you id run a 228r and 2.5 5.3l heads from texas speed

Or vengeance racing- maybe a vrx3 and trickflow heads

If you are planning on spending 3 grand I recommend stock 243 heads with a 230ish duration cam. This will be cheap and you should have money for a 12 bolt or 9". You can get those heads for around $4-500, I think you could do everything for around $1,500, including new LS7 lifters, lifter trays, head gaskets, all other gaskets, head bolts and other misc stuff. You already have the fast intake so I think you could make anywhere from 420-450 rwhp. No need really for a set of cnc ported heads. Take your extra $1500 and get a rear end!

If you've got $3K to spend on H/C and you don't track your car I would go with some killer heads like AFR 205's or TFS 215's. Combine that with a custom spec'd cam from Patrick G and you will have a great performer. He combines your goals with all of your mods to spec out a cam that will work great with your heads. The rear could die at a stoplight or last 50 trips down the track...it's all a guessing game. What I do know is you're going to want a new clutch with all that extra power.

TONY MAMO Recepet cam & AFR 205's milled. 450rwhp 410rwtq. Great street manners.

My stock 10 bolt w/ 4.10's is still holding strong w/ 432rwhp/403rwtq.

As long as you keep your 3:42's in the back, the rear will last a while depending on your driving habits and frequency of going to the track. Tire selection, etc..But 3:42's suck

IMO a 12 bolt should be put in these cars before ever adding any power to them.
