Default Checking the Tranny Fluid

Is it just me or is it hard as hell to tell the fluid level on an LS1. When i pull the dipstick the holes will have a little fluid and the bottom will be red. It seems like every time i pull the dip stick its at a diffrent level. I know I have enough fluid in it but its driving me nuts any ideas or tricks???????

Sometimes it is a pain in the butt, but ive found that if its constantly innacurate/or random just add a little bit of fluid. And see how it reacts. As long as you have fluid on both sides of the stick within the operating range your good

You need to make sure you have a solid line of fluid all the wwway to the top of the crosshatch operating area. A little over is even ok .
And yes they can be a pain to read.

sometimes it helps to look on the other side of the dipstick that doesnt have the writing on it. normally its a little more clear on where the fluid level is. it is a pain, i hear ya
