Default EWP trimming issues

After trimming my fan shroud for my meziere EWP, I'm having issues with the front of the EWP not only touching the shroud, but also the fan.

Anyone else experience this? I'm thinking I need to cut the outer edge of the fan down about halfway, but that seems a little excessive.

AND, my fan is kicking on right away (that's how I found out the pump was touching the fan), is that normal? I wouldn't think a cold motor would turn on the fans...

Sounds like you need to cut a little more off until it clears w/o touching. Mine sits about 1/4 of an inch away from hitting anything.

I unbolted the fan assembly from the back of shroud and put it in from the front. It took some trimming but it gave alot more clearance for the EWP. As for the fans comming on too soon I have no idea!

Do you have a check engine light?

Take the 3 bolts out of the plastic radiator holder. Elongate the holes a little and pull the entire assembly back a little. If needed file the corner of the pump off at a 45* angle to clear the fan.

If your A/C is on the fans will come on with it.

So don't piggyback the fuse? I piggybacked on the ignition fuse - where should I go instead for 12V switched power?

Any pics of how you did this? I can't picture how the fan would go in from the front...

Elliott, I have no idea why mine sits further forward.

No, no check engine light. I had my PCM tuned for my new 160 deg T-stat. I'll have to double check if my A/C got accidentally switched on.
