Default anyone running the GMPP ASA, or Stage 2 cam???

im just thinking about eventually pulling my hotcam and going with something like the ASA or the stage 2.

would the stage 2 be very drivable with a M6? 108 lsa is pretty close isnt it? would it have a really choppy idle?

and what kinda HP would i be looking at with worked 243 heads and a 78mm TB?

thanks,
Jeremy

An lsa of 108 would be choppy as ****. The higher the lsa, the less choppy.

Haven't seen anyone run the Stage 2 cam yet, but there are plenty of threads on the ASA. I put down 393rwhp cam only w/ my ASA. Just added a set of GMPP LS6 heads, but no #'s from that yet.

The stage 2 should be fairly tunable for great driveability. Getting into that GM cams really just gets you into the area where you should just get an aftermarket cam. It would, however sound incredible at idle with it's wide split and tight LSA. It's just not a cam I'd really ever recommend, cause anyone wanting something that range should just go aftermarket with a cam tailored to their needs.

Alot of people love the ASA cam.

There are plenty of people with good results with the asa. And some not so good - including me. I recommend going with a custom grind. The cost is negligible.

Do some searching on here and make a decision based on what you find

wow, thats pretty damn good. i should have got the asa!!! cam swaps on the ls motors is pretty easy, so im not too disappointed. i could just pull the hotcam and sell it on ebay or something. i like that the gm cams aren't too high on the lift so i dont have to change my springs.

id like to know what that asa would have given me if you didnt even have the 243 heads and got 393! sounds like that would be a rippin cam with a 78mm tb and some head work for my V!!!!
