2005 6.0-What harnesses are compatible?
I have a 2005 6.0 with the dbw throttle body,
Which engine harnesses are compatible with this engine? Will a 5.3 harness work from the same year?I am having a hard time finding an engine harness for this engine from my local salvage yard.If someone has one that will work I am shopping for one,
Thanks
J

58x pulse my friend from NEPA (can you send me some Middleswarth BBQ chips?!).
Check the sensors or reluctor wheel style first. I know some 05's had the older 24x, I thought 06 was the main change-over year for the majority. Like posted, black cam/crank sensors is 24x sensor, gray is 58x......unless someone pulled a fast one on you.
Check with some of the conversion sponsors, Speartech I know will have something, maybe Painless...

PS Do you really want the chip? I haven't seen them in a while, but I'd look for you. Personaly I think Golden Sun were the best, but they've be gone for a long time

Wow... the 58x didn't start in any of the trucks until '07, so don't worry about that.
If you want to keep the drive by wire, then just find a drive by wire V8 (4.8, 5.3, 6.0) harness from any '03-'06 (and early '07) trucks.
They are pretty much all wired the same. Only differences are flex fuel injectors vs. standard, 4L80E vs 4L60E, and 4wd vs. 2wd.

Really you can use any harness from 05 and earlier. The main differences between harnesses will be a few connectors, usually just fuel injectors, O2 locations, EGR, etc., and if you're changing the intake to an LS1/LS6 type you can use any F-body harness or f-body derived conversion harness - which seems to be the most popular route if you don't have one already. The f-body harness would make it necessary to ditch the DBW TB, although there may be a C5 harness/SBW module solution offered by someone, I would definitely check with Speartech if you want to keep DBW.
