Heads/Cam folks running GMMG come in...
Been having issues with the local authorities regarding noise on my current set-up. As a matter of survival I am going to have to go away from my duals and back to something a bit less on the exhaust side. Ran a Corsa and did not like it. Had one GMMG and sold it but that was when the heads/cam were stock. My current set-up is in the sig, looking for some feedback on a GMMG with cats/heads/cam as far as how loud and what it is like in the drivers compartment as far as noise and drone.
Liked the GMMG before, just fear it may be too loud with the cam I am running. Other feedback as far as decent heads/cam exhausts is apprciated. Magnaflow and Mufflex are consideration now also. Looks like I will have a SpeedInc dual exhaust for sale at some point this spring/summer.
Thanks for any input

My friend has a 580whp lq9 in his camaro with cats and gmmg, and it is dam loud. Just driving at 2k rpm you literally had to yell to your passenger. I would go with the magnaflow and do a cut out when you want it really loud.

The GMMG was one of the first mods I did. So I know what it was like to run that exhaust with a stock engine and with a now 383/camed/head/LT setup.
The GMMG has always sounded great for me, both stock and 383 build! IMO it was the long tubes that kicked up the loudness factor overall.
I'm 100% happy with my set-up including the GMMG. I'd say the sound is moderate, others say its loud, but what do they know. :-) I never had TD so I cant comment on a compare.

I have a mild cam and stock heads with ARheaders my Formula. Here is a clip to get an idea of how it sounds in regular driving situations:

In the cabin with the windows open, it really isn't that loud. I'm always a bit surprised when I leave the car idle and step out of the car and realize it's quite that loud. Even though it's a bit loud to me, I think there are many people here that would call it quiet.

Thanks all. I had a GMMG before the heads and cam and it was a great sound. I think now with the big cam and high HP heads I will be doing the Magnaflow with a cutout. Chances are I will put the Speedinc. true dual set up on EBAY. It is out the back with 3" X-Pipe reduced into 2.5 mufflers. They are Magnaflow 14419. Nice tips from a SS trailblazer SS with the SLP Logo etched in.
Again, thanks for the replys...
