hey guys so here is my question, im lookin to go all out on a magnacharger motor for my 2002 ws6. i need recommendations for pistons and how much -cc's, along with block sizes. heres my setup so far, Eds mp112 magnacharger kit, simens 60lb/hr fuel injectors, TSP stage 3 LQ9 heads, EPP F/I Camshaft, double roller timing chain, ported oil pump, chromemoly pushrods. im thinking about going with SLP's 402 Iron LS1. any advice is greatly appericiated.
thx guys,
Tom

I think the TCS 1.9 or 2.3 would be best for your setup, since you are running a 402. The MP112 is a little small for an all-out setup.
The price difference through Magnacharger is probably small given the price of the entire kit. If all-out is your goal, I think the TVS series would be the way to go.
Then again, those guys might be giving MP112 kits away to clear out their old inventory... I don't really know. I called them a couple weeks ago for some info and the immediately tried to sell me on the MP112 kits. I had to ask specifically about the TVS kit, and then I got some info on that.

You would be better of with a 346 - 370 block (forged). Torque down low will be nuts. If you are dead set on going with a 402 or have one, you'll have to overspin the maggie to make the power or go with a Procharger or Turbo setup. I loved my maggie though. The lowend is insane.

gotcha so 402 is to big for the little maggie, ok so that answers that question, so now 2 my others,(1) what would be the best pistons for it, and (2) i want 2 aim for 650-700 rwhp and maximize the blower, does n e one think my setup that i have listed, in the first thread can produce that much power. like i said n e advice is greatly appericiated, ill try and contact Ed and see if i can get n e info on the TVS kit. as far as my rearend setup goes, im not goin n e where past 3.73 gears assuming i can even hook up with those gears

Check out our complete LS2/402 shortblock, the parts listed in it our what we use and recommend.
3.70 gears are a great way to go. Check out my '99 Camaro at this link, which has 3.70 gears. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=12 Bob

well a magnuson 122 will be sufficient enoungh check out kenny duttweilers engine, it made over 700 horsepower on pump gas with the 122 which i beleive will fit given enough persistance, i must say though i read through the page on ur camaro, it is one impressive piece of machinery, kudos

That was on an engine dyno. Its going to take a lot of tuning and a 370-383ci motor and a big damn blower cam and a **** load of boost to get 700 rwhp.
I will prove it within the next 2 mos, Thats the build i'm working on right now.

I ran a forged 347 with small valve reliefs on mine, 243 heads, blower cam from Comp Cams, Kooks 1 7/8 lts, and spun mine to 10lbs of boost; I used the thicker MLS gaskets too, with a tune from Vengeance when they came out to Hawaii and drove my car to tune it I ended up with 545rwhp and 550rwtq.
I would recommed forged pistons with a slight dish to help drop compression to be able to use more timing and get more power out of your setup. I could have run meth or some other charge to increase the timing, that would've gotten me closer to 600s. A few more cubic inches would help out too, but I would reommend staying under 400, more like 370-383.
The off-idle torque and power wit the maggie kits is insane, mine was a daily driver with tire-smokin capabilities at will. I could be driving 70mph on the freeway turn off the traction control, mat the pedal and send the tires up in a smoke show. Then I decided that I wanted a Vette and let it go, dumbest thing I've ever done!!!!
