Catalytic converter?
My sisters car is a 2000 auto Camaro V6. Her car has been acting weird lately in that it seems like the torque converter is slipping like a bad clutch. I can hammer the gas and the RPM's shoot up but the car wont move unless I give it very slow and steady gas. She took it to have the TC replaced and its still doing the same thing. Her mechanic told her that it wasn't the TC it was the cat that was causing her problems, because the car is throwing a bad cat code. Can this actually happen? Doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me! Could her tranny be bad?

Ya that's what I thought. I told her that and shes all pissed off and doesn't believe me! She says I told her to spend 700 bucks on getting the converter replaced (when I offered to do it for free) and that I'm a douch and don't know what Im talking about. Hope she enjoys getting a new trans!
