How Much Stall and Who?
I just ordered my rebuild kit for my transmission and will be rebuilding that as soon as I get the kit/parts.
What should I get for a Stall speed and any advice on a company? I see a lot a LS1 guys running Yanks.
This car is going to see a lot of the dragstrip and I may put it on a steady diet of the juice until I can scrape the money together for a D1SC.
The cam Im having ground is just a mild cam that Patrick G specd for me. So its nothing radical, should idle fine with a very slight chop with a tune.
Any advice?
I'd be interested also so feedback from guys that are running Yanks
or Fuddle.
How do you like them?
Hindsight, would you have gone higher stall speed, lower?
How do they compare to say a TCI Super Street Fighter? B&M Holeshot, Tork Master?
Just want to get as many opinions as I can so I can weigh all the options.
For lots of nitrous or FI, the PYE series are proven performers. If it's going to be awhile before you go FI and you're going to stick around the 150-shot area, the SS series would be a great choice. I ran the SS4000 and it was an awesome street/strip converter and was very tight for its stall speed, but I wanted more topend, so I swapped to my current PT4400 (PT-series are NA converters). It really depends on how quickly you're going to go FI. If it's going to be some time, call Yank and ask about the SS-series....I think you'd be very happy with it. Good luck!

some people have had good luck with them, but thats exactly it, luck. do you wanna play the odds on how long it will take to get to you, or if its even going to be a good one once you get it?

I feel confident in the choice I've made and the money spent.
Another thing that impressed me about Yank is the customer service, both
before and after the sale. Dave literally sat and talked cars, "in general",
even without discussing the sales end of things. Yes, they have a business
to run, but you can tell they (Dave) have a keen interest in cars.
Everything was done as promised (manufacturing time/delivery/etc),
which speaks a lot for their integrity.
Do you know any duration specs on the cam? 228? 234? If its a "mild" cam I would stick somewhere around 3,200-3,400 for the stall range so your flash point will put you right into the beginning power band of the cam.
Personally I run Circle D and wouldn't go anywhere else after the customer service & quality I received.
Thanks for the advice.
