Converter co. input please
I recently had a converter built by a local company and it seems there was some miscommunication, and I'm not happy with my new converter. I am considering a converter from one of the sponsors here, and need some input.
I'm running a 4l60e. 346ci 475rwhp makes peak torque 425ft/lbs about 4700 and I'm shifting at 7k. 3.89 gears. Running 28" et street radials. From all I've read I probably need a converter with about 4000 stall. The kicker is I will be running a 250 shot on it. This is where I think the miscommunication came in. I wanted a converter that would get good 60ft's on motor and work well on the spray. I ended up with one that only flashes about 2800 on motor and the best I can get is a 1.68 60ft. This converter feels stock driving around and I hate it. It frys tires on the street and is killing my et's on motor. I haven't tried it on the spray. I had better 60ft's on my cam only setup with 3.23's and a vigilante 3600 before I blew up the stock tranny and ruined the converter. The only street manners I'm worried about are the lockup so I can cruise down the highway to the area racing spots. The car is not a daily driver and doesn't see much if any stop and go driving.
Can someone give some input on a good converter. Do I have to give up the good 60ft's on motor to get a good converter for the spray? I should be well into the 1.5's on motor and probably mid 1.4's on spray I think.

We can design a converter for you that will work well with both The SRLS6391 would be my choice. As a nitrous converter generally wont 60 well without the jug and if you build a motor only converter it will blow through on the jug.So with that being said we need to build you one that meets the happy medium. give me a call and i can explain.
