Bubbles in paint

Bubbles in paint Bought a hood from a friend unpainted. I had it painted and the shop told me the bubbles came from the gel coat that the manufacturer put on it. I figured he was was BSing me so i took it to another shop and after 1 look they also said the same thing. Ive never heard of that before can anyone explain what happened and shoot me some options?
