Cost increase from wet to DP
I have a fast 92/92 sitting in my garage waiting to go on my car. I am also beginning to shop around and look at nitrous kits and am wondering since my intake requires little work to drill/plumb direct port nozzles how much more is it/safer is it to go direct port over wet shot. Not looking at more than 200 or 250 (motor is fully forged/built).
just figured i would stop in here and ask the gurus about it
thanks

A directport will cost alittle more compared to a plate or nozzle system.
However there are advantages to having a properly plumbed directport.
1. The ability to individually tune each cylinder.
2. The most precise even distribution to each cylinder.
3. Able to spray larger HP shots do to distribution.
There are disadvantes.
1. Cost
2. Tunning Time is longer
3. Larger strain on fuel system
With out a doubt for 250 -300 a directport is the best choice. However There are many people spraying 200 and 250 on our plates. We even have customers spraying 300.
Due to our plate design I would not hesitate to spray 200-250 hp. As you get in the higher HP range reading spark plugs is critical. By reading the spark plugs as you move up in HP levels you will have an early indication if a cylinder is burning hoter than the others.
So what My suggestion is.. If you have the money for the directport go that route. If you do nt have the funds or race a in a class that probits directports our plate will easily do what you are looking to do.
