Default Help with strange brake set up.

Im putting my 9 inch back in my car and with lt1s moser give you alittle spacer that goes behind the bearing when you press it on to space out the backing plate. Does anyone know if i need to reuse this when installing stranger brakes?

depends if the strange brakes are stock lt1 replacements, if so I'd say install the spacer and shim the caliper to correct if needed.

Fran, I had to use those 1/8" spacers on my moser with aerospace brakes. Spacer went between the inside of the housing end and the bearing. Without them, if I pushed the axle all the way into the housing the rotor would hit the insides of the calipers. I had no problems at all with the stock brakes. I think the problem is that Moser housing ends have 1/8" of slop where you can push the axle in til the bearing hits the inside of the housing end and pull it out til it hits the backing plate.

Do you have the spacer between the axle flange and the bearing? or between the housing end and the bearing?
