Question What gears for 135 mph+????

I ran 132.5 yesterday, with 6 speed, 3:73's and 27" tall tires. I went threw the traps, and as soon as i did my shift light came on at 6,200 rpm.

This means next year my car will be out of gear by 1000", what do you think, should i go to 3:55's? or what?
Thanks.

With 4.56 gears 5th would be topping out at 148

With 4.30 gears 5th would be topping out at 156

With 3.73 gears 4th tops out at 134

with 3.55 gears 4th would top out at 140

with 3.42 gears 4th would top out at 146

Hope something here helps!

If you PM me, I can send you a link to an acceleration simulator that will tell you what 1/4 mile times you will be running with each gearing setup, as long as you have a dyno curve to look at for each point on the torque curve.

Do your upcoming changes include valvetrain? Shifting at 6600 rather than 6200 will top you out at 140 and you won't loose gearing off the line.

Yeah, more RPM capability (I mean, 6200 is REALLY conservative even for a stock bottom end) and/or taller tires would keep you from having to change your gearing...plus, you'll likely be faster.
