coated ones are a good header at a good price. If you have the money stainless or kooks are the way to go.

Yes, good bang for the buck header.
But, before you buy them, look in the Classified Section for used sets of headers, you might be able to get a set of stainless steel used headers for the same price as new coated pacesetters, for example, click on this link.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/florida-c...arts-sale.html

He is selling some SS QTP's with an ORY w/ a flowmaster merge all for $550.
That is a pretty good deal and the merge really help alot, I have one too.

Yes, pacesetters are good I have them, but stainless steel is better in the long run. You will learn these things the more you mod the car, have fun!

They are a great budget header, If you live somewhere where rust may become an issue definitely get Stainless Steel headers!

if your gonna keep the car long term pony up for stainless. while pacesetters serve a purpose there is a huge difference between them and a quality header like Kooks. it's always cheaper to do things once.

Agreed. I should have just went with stainless off the bat. However I've had my coated pacesetters since they were 1st designed and still have almost zero rust. It only appeared by the collector. But then again my car has 26k and doesn't see the elements.

My car really never goes out in the rain, or anything. It stays in a cool shop. So I dont think rust would be an issue.

i like my pacesetters but if youre keeping it long term id definitely go with stainless. When I build my new engine I'm going to either get kooks or arh.

I put pacesetters on my 2000 SS loved them but the Y pipe kinda sucks so I bought a mufflex one, not saying to buy a mufflex Y pipe but the connection just kinda sucks, you can just cut it off and weld up a flowmaster connection and would probably be exactly the same.

My Pacesetters & Y were a great fit. Go with coated ones. The paint came off on the first startup.
