Meth color?

Meth color? Guys I went to pick of some methanol at a local dirt track distributor and I bought 4 gallons for $15. However the color of the meth was blue? I was under the impression that methanol was clear? My brother as a Alky control kit on his car (from previous owner) and its clear?
I didn't question it at the time since I seen the 55 gallon barrell that was labeled Methanol that they pumped it out of. They told me it had a lubricant (might be why its blue?) and they said it was technically 99.99% Meth.
Anyone else run this same stuff?

And its a blue color from the lubricant(which is antifreeze basically)Your most common washer fluid stuff is
35% methonal
63% water
2% automotive antifreeze (which is what colors it)
I have NO idea if that's what you have run into. I'm not sure if there is a way to test the Meth/Water level in what you got. But I would definitely get some pure Methanol, the clear stuff

But if you purchased this stuff from a roundy round dirt track it would have to be pure methanol. I Have seen methanol w/ blue dye.
A lot of dealerships get washer solvent that way in 55 gal drums that say "Methanol /w Blue Dye" on the side.
The dealerships dilute it with water before they use it in a vehicle.
So I think you will be safe to use what you got considering you bought it at a dirt track (since they run pure Methanol as a fuel source)

Methanol is naturally clear.The blue probably is top end lube.This is required when running in an engine as meth has no lubricity in it for the valves.Some guys just buy reg meth and add their own top end lube and others buy it by the drum already mixed.Either way it will not hurt in a meth kit.

It can hurt the seals and soft parts in the pumps if the lube is Petroleum based.
Julio at Alkycontrol has been very specific about this. Just USING a funnel that once had gasoline or oil through it is enough to contaminate the meth and cause soft part problems in the pumps he tells me.
He has much more experience and puts his own soft parts into those pumps that ship with his kits, so I take his word for it.

My vpmotorsports 100% methanol is clear, but the wiper fluid you can buy at walmart is 35% and its blue. I also hear blue dyes your tank and fittings.

Methanol should not have lead in it. U only want to use pure meth or distilled water in a meth injection system. IT will slowly weaken the seals I was using pure meth 50 gals though system then add a top end lube pump went out 2 days later.

"Methanol Blue" is what the windshield washer fluid was called that came in a 55 gal drum we used to get. It would then be cut 50/50 w/ water. But it was pretty much pure methanol. Thats pretty much all windshield washer fluid is.....with water and die added.

Any reason why? other than the fact he probably wanted you to buy his stuff? I know people running blue washer fluid and they have been doing it for a few years. never an issue.
