Default How much gain from a little weight loss?

Hi,

I am considering removing the spare & jack, rear seats & belts, rear floor mats, and hatch cover (approx 70).
What sort of time will that knock off, and that = how much gain rwhp?

Thanks for the help......

Rule of thumb is 100lbs = .1 sec.

This is true. Although, just because you are going faster, you are not always gaining rwhp. You are just making your car less to move, and therefore faster.

So wrangling over an ls1 or iron block isn't worth the lost sleep? 6.0's are cheaper.

Okay thanks.
Not sure the reduction is worth the loss of the seats, may just lose the jack & spare.

Thanks for the help

I think any reduction is pretty much a waste of time unless you plan on taking 200-300+ lbs out of the car. Don't lose your jack and spare tire if that is all you plan to take out.

Just take it out at the track, that is sufficient.

I gained 1.5 tenths when I removed the entire air conditioner system and front sway bar. all togeather it was 47lbs off the nose. funny thing when I added a tubular front end back to back I didn't gain from that.
