How much hp can a stock ls1 handle safely on 93 octane? Im debating whether to get a 99 mustang cobra or a 99 ls1 6-spd camaro. I like both cars a lot although i have been partial to ford my whole life. So i was wondering what kinda hp can these stock ls1 motors handle on pump gas RELIABLY for a daily driver? Thanks, Joe

a ls1 6spd F-body with a good driver can whack a 99 cobra, now add a turbo and think about it. high tens with all the right tweaks. Add a blower to a cobra or upgrade the blower and your still a low 12/hi 11s car, lmfao.
pS 550-600rwhp is your limit. 550rwhp all day with the correct setup...

My computer wasnt letting me search or the site wasnt letting me search when i posted this thread dont get your pantys in a bunch. Im lookin at a 2000 camaro with ported and polished heads, cam, ls6 intake, with other motor and suspension mods. It makes 491 on 100 octane and 484 on 93 pump. Those numbers sound about right and safe for a daily driver? I want want something that is a tame street car until you get on the throttle, and i dont want to have to fix it all the time and deal with stupid tuning issues or other crap. Do ya guys think id be happy with something like this?

Not often do I get involved but I agree.... SEARCH.... imho... A ls1 can handle whatever you wanna throw at it... The real question is???How Long Do You Want It TO LAST??? You can make 1000hp for 5min or 500hp for years... Its all in what you want and who you have tune it! That is honestly the best answer to this question that any of us can give!!! ...... Anyone else agree???
