Default Draining Converter?

Hey guys,

Is it possible I could drill a small hole in the side of the converter to allow all the fluid to drain out? then weld it back shut. lol

Best bet is a cut/clean....otherwise flip it over and let it drain overnight. Not many options really.

Send it back to the manufacture and have them go through it

My ford Truck has a hole in the bell housing and a pipe plug (from the factory) in the torque converter. I think this is an awesome idea and i dont see why you couldnt do it on any other car as long as everything is sealed well when done.

I have seen many converters that have been destroyed by doing this
unless you know what is under the drill point I would not do it
also the small chips from the drilled hole will go into the converter

Many older Fords have this. But their converters are balanced with the plug in mind. Is yours?
