Default Proud SS owner in VA

Hello all! I'm Mike and I've liked the 93 and up Camaro since it came out and I finally got my hands on one, 1999 SS and it is a great car. I got a deal on it because it has almost 200K miles and needs some work but I don't mind that at all.

I gave it a tune up with AC Delco Irridium plugs and MSD wires and it runs great. At the same time I did a compression test and all cylinders are between 150-160 psi. It doesnt burn any oil but does get some thru the PCV which seems to be common on these.

I ported the MAF and TB, DIY ram air, cut EGR pipe, and TB coolant bypass, Flowmaster muffler and Summit drop springs are the only mods so far and I think the dirty stock paper air filter and air box are choking it in the higher RPMs, but SLP air box lid and bellow and K&N filter are soon to come.

Body-needs a passenger door and driver side rear quarter panel but that will come later. Clear coat is coming up but still looks good overall.

Thanks for looking!

Looks like a great start. Don't sweat the mileage as long as it was taken care of. Did the last owner keep the t-tops?....

I got the T tops with the car, which don't leak at all! It was just a nice day and I was taking advantage of it with the tops off! The inside panels are tan though, the original color of the interior. Those are the only thing not converted to the ebony, anyone wanna trade!?

I have a stock MAF that you can get for about $25 to fix your car

In all seriousness, welcome to the board. If you need any tuning services or just have any questions feel free to shoot me a pm or email.

Thanks for the welcome!

So is there an F body club or meet or just some kind of meet and greet? I remember there used to be "the lot" a few years ago and some times see some cars at the Dairy Queen on Courthouse road but nothing big.

The club http://www.f-bodyhideout.com/forums/...ad.php?t=30166 meets in different locations along with Fred. We also do the Ride For Pride every year which is a blast to be in.https://ls1tech.com/forums/eastern-m...-11-a.htmlThey also do the D.C parade for the Vets. Right now a few of the guys are at the beach having a blast. Check out the Eastern Section!

Besides the F-Body Hideouts monthy meets, Richmond Performance Musclecars(4th Gen F-Body club) meets weekly for dinner at Ruby Tuesday's in Mechanicsville every Wednesday at 8pm.
