five slot search
I like the old school aluminum five slots. Had them on my '84 Z/28 and they absolutely made the car. Any idea where I can get a set of 16s for my 2000? I haven't seen any anywhere.

I think you might be referring to Ansen Sprints, oddly American Racing only sells them in 15 and 17 inch

I remember back in the '80's you could get them and their copies almost for free at swap meets, times change. My dad had a set of Sprints on his '40 Chevy coupe back in the late 80's, most people thought they looked dated at the time but I always liked the way they looked.

Yup, I know what you're referring to. They were made by Ansen, American Racing, A/FX (JC Penney's auto dept. in the 70s), Appliance, Cragar, E-T, Fenton, and Halibrand, just to name a few....
They were really good looking wheels, and I had a set of them on the '71 Chevelle SS that I had from '71-'73. Put them on the '73 GTO that I had after the Chevelle.
However, in order to look really good, they had to have the "deep dish" look, and with the FWD offsets of the fourth gen wheels, you can't really get them all that deep. For some reason, those wheels were ALL made with a 3.75" backspacing, and any additional width beyond the basic 7" wide rim, was added to the street side of the rim, be it an 8.5" rim, a 10" rim, or possibly a 12" rim, as I seem to recall that one of the companies made them up to that width.
